Graduation Requirements

Associates Degree

In order to receive an Associate Degree the candidate must complete the following requirements:

Meet all entrance requirements.

​

Filed a degree plan.

 

Earned 62 semester hours of credit (excluding Basic Studies course hours)

​

Cumulative grade point average of 2.20

​

Complete the required courses for the degree plan being pursued.

​

Complete a minimum of 45 semester hours at Southwestern Christian College.

​

Take the ETS Proficiency Profile Exit Exam. 

​

Satisfy all financial obligations to the college.

 

Present to the Vice President for Academic Affairs a formal application for graduation by the date indicated on the academic calendar of the sophomore year.

 

Maintain good moral character.

 

Participate in the graduation exercises unless officially excused by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Bachelor of Science

Bachelors Degree

In order to receive a Bachelor Degree the candidate must complete the following requirements:

Meet all entrance requirements.

​

Filed a degree plan.

 

Complete a minimum of 53 semester hours of general education requirements. 

 

Complete a minimum of 78 semester hours required courses for the Bachelor of Science degree.

 

Complete a minimum of 95 semester hours at Southwestern Christian College. A maximum of 32 semester hours will be accepted from a school of preaching or other unaccredited institution.

 

Earned at least 131 hours of credit (excluding Basic Studies course hours)

 

Cumulative grade point average of 2.40

 

Complete 2 1-hour Internships. After completing 35 semester hours in Bible and Religious Education the student is eligible to make application to do an Internship. The student must have a 2.00 grade point average at the time application is made. Approval for the Internship must be granted by the Vice President for Academic Affairs before beginning the Internship.

 

Take the Religious Studies Division Exit Exam and ETS Proficiency Profile Exit Exam. 

 

Satisfy all financial obligations to the college.

 

Present to the Vice President for Academic Affairs a formal application for graduation by the date indicated on the academic calendar of the senior year.

 

Maintain good moral character. 

 

Participate in the graduation exercises unless officially excused by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
