This innovative program is designed to provide students with
the academic support necessary to assist students in their
matriculation here at Southwestern and complete their
undergraduate education.
Program Overview
The Center for Student Success is a program that provides
students every opportunity for them to obtain a college
degree successfully. The services provided include
tutorials; academic, personal and career counseling, and a
variety of workshops designed to teach and train students in
several areas such as:
- Proper Note
Taking
- Study Skills
- Time Management
- Test Taking Strategies
- Other Structured Motivational Learning Experiences.
All students who have enrolled in Southwestern Christian
College are eligible to participate in this program.
All of these services will enable eligible participants to:
- Improve academic skills
- Increase retention and graduation rates
- Assist in their enrollment into a 4-year institution

Location
The Tutoring Sessions will take place in the Wilson Timothy
Hunt Science Building Rooms 1 & 2 during the following
times:
- Mondays (7:00pm – 9:00pm)
- Tuesdays (7:00pm – 9:00pm)
- Thursdays (7:00pm – 9:00pm)
Tutoring
The Center for Student Success provides both individual and
group tutoring sessions for all students. These sessions aid
students in completing class assignments as well as
preparing for upcoming quizzes and examinations. In this
program, there are students, selected based on prior
academic performance, who serve as peer tutors. These peer
tutors work very closely with the students in their
coursework in addition to holding special sessions for all
students in preparation for upcoming examinations.

When Do the Tutoring Sessions
Take Place?
The student tutoring sessions take place on Mondays,
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in the Science
Building Rooms 1&2. Students are able to come to the
tutoring sessions at any time and receive aid in any
classes.
What Should Students Bring to
the Student Tutoring Sessions?
It is important for students to bring all class materials
such as class syllabi, notes, old tests/quizzes and homework
assignments, textbook(s), all handouts, and all study guides
given by the professor.
If I am in Need of Special
Tutoring for My Class(es), What Should I Do?
All students who are in need of one-on-one tutoring sessions
can come and see Dr. Edward Robinson, the director of the
Center for Student Success, and he will provide all
resources that the student needs.
Where Do I Go To Receive
Information on Upcoming Scholarships?
Scholarship information is available in the offices of Dr.
Edward Robinson and Mr. Warren Roberts, the director and
assistant director of the program.
